Duda

Why isn't my Duda site showing up in AI answers?

Short answer

Duda serves rendered HTML and lets you edit robots.txt, so access is rarely the issue — the two real causes are still being on the .multiscreensite.com preview domain, and agency-built pages that read like brochures with no plain answer in the text.

What Duda lets you control

AI visibility is mostly decided by what the platform will and won't let you change. Here's where Duda stands.

Sitemap
https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml — Duda generates and maintains the sitemap for every published site, including multilingual variants.
robots.txt
You can edit it. Duda exposes robots.txt in the site's SEO settings, so you can write AI-crawler rules.
Rendering
Duda serves rendered HTML with separate desktop and mobile output; crawlers get real text.
Hiding a page
Per page, in the page's SEO panel — there's a switch to keep a page out of search results and out of the sitemap.
Custom head code
Site-wide and per-page HTML injection into <head> is available in the site settings, which is where JSON-LD goes.
llms.txt
Duda doesn't serve arbitrary root files. Keep the sitemap accurate and publish a plain page listing your best URLs instead.

What stops a Duda site being cited

  • The preview domain isn't your brand and carries no authority. Publish to the client's custom domain before anything else.
  • Duda's separate mobile rendering can drop sections. Check the mobile HTML contains the same answers as desktop — assistants often fetch the mobile version.
  • Agency templates repeat the same service copy across dozens of location pages. Near-duplicate pages get one citation at best, usually none.
  • Duda emits basic business schema on some templates but no FAQ markup — add it through HTML injection.
  • Multilingual sites need hreflang set correctly, or assistants pick an arbitrary language version to quote.

How to make your Duda site quotable by AI assistants

  1. 1Publish to the custom domain and confirm the preview domain redirects or is closed off.
  2. 2Rewrite each service or location page so it opens with an H2 question and a one-sentence answer specific to that page.
  3. 3Add FAQ JSON-LD through the site's head HTML injection.
  4. 4Check the live robots.txt allows the AI user-agents.
  5. 5Verify in Bing Webmaster Tools and push new pages through IndexNow.

Duda and AI search: common questions

Can I edit robots.txt on Duda?

Yes — Duda exposes robots.txt in the site's SEO settings, so you can allow or disallow specific AI crawlers.

Why do my Duda location pages not get cited?

They're usually near-duplicates of each other. Assistants pick one source per claim, and near-identical pages give them no reason to pick yours. Make each page say something only true of that location.

Does Duda's mobile version matter for AI?

Yes. Duda renders mobile separately, and crawlers commonly fetch the mobile HTML. If a section is dropped on mobile, that content effectively doesn't exist for the assistant.
